Paris shows concluded our fashion year coming; The first few days we were thrown into "outer space" with Garth Pugh and Rick Owens's creatures storming down the runaway strianght from Planet Pluto!

However the other extreme closed Paris S/S 2012 with Alexander Mqueen couture-enginnered garments based on all things aquantic, Karl's Chanel-model-army paraded down the gaint ocean-bedded catwalk to the sound of Florence Welch, and hopefully the tune "Swimming!"  Givenchy told the love story of a surfer and a mermaid, taking on the contrast of clean cut shapes and chiffon sequins.  

Few trips to white sanded beaches is the only way to showcase this lot !
